An estimate of 150 poker players has managed to snag a million in more in the WSOP all these years. But there are only 10 players who have won the most and below is a list of them and how they achieve taking home these huge earnings.

1.Jamie Gold – $12,067,292

He captured the largest earnings in WSOP history by winning the 2006 Main Events. The pot of $12 million for the first prize on that tournament has been the hugest pay in WSOP and it made Jamie Gold the number one money maker on this list. He also manages to take home 3 other cashes in the WSOP amounting to $67,000 respectively.

It is improbable that the number of participants will reach the 2006 mark in the WSOP (unless the UIGEA is repelled and poker sites from Europe can reach the US market once again), so it only means that Gold will somehow hang on to the first place for the following years. That would be the situation unless someone ended up having his even bigger finish in the Main Event.

2.Peter Eastgate – $9,152,416

During the WSOP Main Event 2008, a young poker pro named Peter Eastgate won the second biggest pot in poker history and he comes ahead on everyone except of course, Jamie Gold. And would you also believe that it’s his only cashed in during the WSOP? Well, yes and it’s really worth all his efforts.

Being young made Eastgate the prime candidate to capture the number one spot in this list in the subsequent years and so.

3.Jerry Yang – $8,250,000

Another one cash in player made it in the Top 10 Moneymaker list and that would be Jerry Yang – the 2007 WSOP Main Event winner.

His impossible victory during the 2007 Main Event is expected to be Jerry Yang’s only huge hit in poker. Lots of players have admitted that Yang lacks the skill to generate more wins in the future. Regardless of this, Yang’s good personality makes up for his lack of expertise.

4.Joe Hachem – $7,941,823

Known as one of the best players who have triumph in the WSOP in the past few years, Hachem have cash in from 8 events in the WSOP ever since and that includes managing to reach the final table twice where he ended up in the 2nd and 4th place. He also won the WPT Five Diamond event in 2006 adding another $2 million dollars in his earnings.

The 2005 WSOP Main Event is the official coming out party of Hachem but it also launches the Australian chant, “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie…Oy, Oy, Oy!!!”, to the rest of the world.

5.Allen Cunningham – $6,717,791

Allen Cunningham is the first non-Main Event poker player who made this list. At 32 years of age, Allen already won 5 bracelets and 40 cash in the WSOP to date. He is a long time poker professional who got his big win during the 2006 Main Event where he finished in the 4th place and won a pot of more than $3 million.

He may not be one of the most popular names in poker but Cunningham is one of the top tournament players in the poker world.

6.Greg Raymer – $6,487,512

Raymer is the first Main Event Champion who has profit from the increase in participants in the WSOP. He won the 2004 Main event against 2,576 players taking home the coveted prize of $5 million.

Greg “Fossilman” Raymer also proved that he is a true professional poker player by cashing in 11 more times since his big win in 2005 and that included a 3rd place feat during the 2009 $40k NLHE tournament.

7.Ivan Demidov – $6,468,381

He is the first non-bracelet winner on this list but he is considered as one of the most promising poker players since his runner up win in the 2008 Main Event. Demidov is from Russia and he also grabbed the 3rd place in the WSOP Europe Main and finishes 2nd in the WSOP Main Event at the same year.

8.Paul Wasicka – $6,192,711

Wasicka is known for winning the largest brides-maid payday in the history of poker. He is an instructor for Full Tilt Poker Academy and a pro for the same game. He already cash in 3 events and he’s another player to look out for in the years to come.

9.Phil Hellmuth – $6,054,988

Phil Hellmuth is one of the pompous poker brats in the history of poker and maybe it’s killing him that he only place 9th in this list. He has won 11 times in the WSOP but only receive $755,000 as his biggest paycheck.

Phil Hellmuth has also cash in 75 events in the WSOP (which is the most cashed in all time) but he has not yet takes home the kind of pot that everyone else in the Top 10 has. Obviously, he’s the hardest worker in the group. Others have commented that if he’ll reach the top 10 here without a million dollar check; the other players have already made at least $3 million dollars score.

10.Michael Binger – $4,853,748

He is known to be one of the most less popular players in the poker community, Michael Binger have already made 19 WSOP cashes in his career. He also grabbed the third place in the 2006 Main Events wherein the top 4 players of that year have a place here in this list.

He has a PhD in theoretical physics but Binger opts to play poker instead of working at CERN. He has chosen this path because it pays rather well than the latter.
