For the third consecutive night Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies was one of the most active players on Full Tilt but this time around he lost a staggering $462k.

It’s been an up-and-down week for Sahamies who mislaid $275k on Monday and then won $275k on Tuesday to erase his deficit. It might be a bit harder for Ziigmund to erase his most recent loss, which occurred mostly in the $300/$600 6-Max PLO games.

Ziigmund recorded 1,274 hands next to fellow high stakes players such as Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Rui Cao, ronnyr37617, DrugsOrMe and Ingenious89.

Despite some significant victories since Full Tilt left the U.S. market earlier this month, Ziigmund is now down almost $800,000 in 2011. 

Although Sahamies faltered that night, the still unidentified ronnyr37617 of Switzerland was on fire winning a total of $452k. Close behind ronnyr37617 was Patrik Antonius who resurfaced after taking one day off from Full Tilt and won $344k. Antonius has perhaps been the best player since online poker’s Black Friday and is now up over $1.8 million in the last two weeks.

The biggest tournament field in PokerStars Latin American Poker Tour field history has wrapped up naming a champ. On the final and fourth day of the event, Chile’s Alex Manzano defeated Joao ‘joao bauer’ Neto, a local favorite in heads up to become the LAPT Sao Paulo champion, claiming the trophy and R $615,840 top prize.

The R $5,000 buy-in main event attracted 536 entrants, easily outshining the tour’s previous record of 394 players. Each of the top 64 players earned no less than R $9,570 of the R $2,391,630 prize pool. An amazing 325 of the tournament entrants were Brazil nationals, but it was Manzano who nabbed the first place payout of R $615,840 ($370,586), which is the second-largest top prize to date for the LAPT. Manzano is first Chileans who’s an LAPT champion. For his runner-up finish, Neto received R $352,760.

With his latest feat, Manzano was capped as the 2011 LAPT Sao Paulo champion, earning the trophy on top of R $615,840 ($370,586) top prize. Season 4 of the tour carries on with the LAPT Chile National Poker Championship March 17-20 in Viña del Mar.

Two days of action have left 278 players waiting at the European Poker Tour’s latest stop in Vienna, Austria. The remaining field, which started as a large enough groups to split into two starting days, will merge tomorrow as players attempt to become one of the 80 who will make the money.
